November 2020 was mild in Germany this year and Reinhold and I took many walks. One day we walked in Bad Homburg near the apartment you and David lived in,Melanie, and I remember the story of the overly sensitive neighbour who complained about the sound of David’s early morning showers before his red eye flights. I’d wondered if she was still living in the building. Reinhold recalled the tennis played at the local club, and what laughs they had. I remember we were the 4 Ms at inlingua: Mary, Melanie, Ming and Emma. We were so young and excited to be living abroad! How could David, this lovely bear of a man be gone so soon?
