Thoughts
November 2020 was mild in Germany this year and Reinhold and I took many walks. One day we walked in Bad Homburg near the apartment you and David lived in,Melanie, and I remember the story of the overly sensitive neighbour who complained about the sound of David’s early morning showers before his red eye flights. I’d wondered if she was still living in the building. Reinhold recalled the tennis played at the local club, and what laughs they had. I remember we were the 4 Ms at inlingua: Mary, Melanie, Ming and Emma. We were so young and excited to be living abroad! How could David, this lovely bear of a man be gone so soon? We were so sad to hear the news. I’m glad the kids are there for you, Mel. Our warmest thoughts are with you, dear friend. Love, Ming & Reinhold, Frankfurt, Germany.

Rest in peace David, taken way too soon.
I will remember you as a kind, caring man who loved his family very much. I’m so grateful for the time you and Nelli got to spend, the special bond you shared and the memories you made together.
One of my fondest memories is sitting out in the garden with the girls on a summer evening when it started to rain - we were having such a lovely time that we didn’t want to come inside and were sure the summer storm was about to pass. As the rain continued to pour you came out laughing and shaking your head at us with a big smile and gave us big golf umbrellas to sit under until the rain passed, all while getting soaked yourself! Such a wonderful, warm, and thoughtful family man.
